Wedding Tip Tuesday – Decorating the Head Table

Decorating the head table can be exciting! You have so many options. Are you going for sophisticated and classy? Or rustic and shabby chic? Either way, it is bound to impress your guests and make them oooh and aaah! (Which they should, since you spent so much time planning everything down to the tiniest details!)

One thing is for certain, though. If you had a bouquet, you will want to display it somewhere. And 99% of the time, that is on the head table. Smack dab in the middle of you and your honey.

Now, I get it. You spent a ton of money on those flowers, and you want to be able to see them! But do you know what happens when that big bouquet is right in front of you guys? It covers your face! When everyone clinks their glasses and you kiss, it is behind the flowers. When your maid of honor gives her amazing speech and you turn to your husband (HUSBAND!!!) to smile at him…it is behind the flowers. When your dad gives the most touching toast and your hubby turns to you to wipe a tear off your cheek, it is..you got it…behind the flowers.

I challenge you, dear bride, to find somewhere to display your bouquet that it will be seen by everyone, but not covering up your beautiful face! Maybe you could use it on the cake/dessert table. Or on the gift table. Or as part of the centerpiece on your parents table. Muster up some of those creative juices and see what you can come up with!

If you do decide that the head table is the only logical place for your bouquet, I totally get that. Maybe you can talk to your florist about designing a way to display your flowers lower to the table so we can still see you above the fragrant blooms!

Above all else, make sure you have fun decorating your head table! It’s all the details and little personal touches that make your day truly come together!

Such a great tip! Thanks for sharing!

  2. I had never thought about it, but how true! It definitely can cover the bride’s face sometimes. Such a good point and something to think about 🙂

Thank you, Morgan! I love a great table decoration, but not at the expense of seeing the most lovely thing in the room- The bride!
