2 month old session | Delafield Baby Photography

I am so happy to be back in the studio! I absolutely love welcoming tiny little babies into my studio, marveling over their little features, and gushing over the adorable faces they make! I have missed coaxing shy toddlers into giving me the biggest heartfelt smiles. I was so sad to miss out on hearing what you were all up to, what your family vacation plans were and how you worked so hard to keep everyone safe and healthy for their photo session, but then 10 minutes before you leave your kindergartner walks right into the door frame leaving a big bruise right in the middle of his forehead.

newborn photos

Little miss Ruby was born during the Safer at Home order, so we weren’t able to do her newborn session until recently. She was 8 weeks old for this session and boy did she rock it! The combination of sleepy posed photos and big wide eyed grins instantly had me falling in love! I hope I will get to continue to photograph older newborns. This combination is so special!

I had the chance to ask Ruby’s parents some questions about what it was like adding a new baby to the family and how things have been going in the first few weeks home.

Was Ruby Kay named after anyone?

Mom: My mother’s name is Kay and it is also my middle name.

How did you decorate your nursery?

We decorated in a pink floral these for our little lady

What has been the best part about being new parents?

All of the snuggles and smiles! Ruby was born during quarantine, and while that was hard because we couldn’t share her with everyone in person, we got to bond as a family of four with everyone at home which was (and is) amazing!

What has been the most challenging part about being new parents?

…..also quarantine. 😂

How has big brother Logan adjusted to the new baby?

Logan loves to kiss her goodnight and say hello – from a safe distance away

Also, I don’t have Logan’s newborn session on the blog (slacker!) but you can check out his adorable sitter session here!

What did you love most about your newborn session?

Andrea was amazing as always! It always shocks me how she can get these little ones to pose so perfect and peaceful…she really is the ‘baby whisperer’.

What would you tell a new mom who is unsure if they want to have newborn photos done?

DO IT! It is so worth it to have these memories forever to remember how little and perfect they are!

If you want to get some beautiful newborn photos done, even if your baby is a little bit older, get in touch and let me know! I will do whatever I can to make your vision come to life!
