So how do you choose the right photographer?
You want to look for a photographer who knows how to work with teens. Having two teenagers of my own, I have a little bit of experience with this age group. You also want someone who has great testimonials from past clients (you can find mine on google and Facebook) as well as someone who’s photos you love.
I bring a relaxed energy to every session and work hard to help you feel natural and confident in front of the camera. I’m not going to lie – there might be a few awkward feeling moments here and there, but overall, you will feel confident at the end of the session knowing that we got amazing photos that represent you.
When Should You Book Your Senior Session?
The best time to book your senior portraits depends on the style you are going for and the area you would like your photos in. Most senior photography sessions in Waukesha take place in summer or early fall.
One major deadline to consider is when your school requires yearbook photos to be submitted. In Waukesha County, this can vary from early September to early December. You will want to verify this deadline with your school so you don’t miss it and end up with your ID card photos as your senior yearbook photo!
Whatever you choose, you will want to book early! Many photographers fill up 2-3 months in advance, especially for prime outdoor dates. Getting in touch with your photographer early is essential to starting off your senior session on the right foot!
What to Wear for Senior Photos?
Outfit choices can make a big impact on how your photos turn out. Many seniors bring 2-5 outfits for their senior portrait session. I recommend including
- One casual outfit that really feels like you
- One dressy outfit for a more classic look
- Optional extras such as a sports jersey, uniform, letter jacket, etc
