Every baby that comes to me for their photographic debut is special. I am honored and humbled each and every time you choose me to be your photographer. But, there is something just a little extra special when a childhood friend chooses you to capture their most precious memories.
Jocelyn’s momma and I have known each other since elementary school. We spend countless hours at her farm running around, causing ruckus of all sorts. The time that most vividly sticks out in my mind is running around her property in winter and I put my boot right through ice into their pond. My foot got soaking wet. I didn’t want to be a wimp though, and miss out on all of the fun, so we kept playing. I will never walking back to their house feeling like I was dragging a block of ice inside my boot.
I am so grateful to have grown up with friends such as Kristiana. And completely honored to have been able to photograph her families so many times! <3 <3
Was Jocelyn named after anyone?
Yes. Her middle name, Danielle, is after Kristiana’s deceased uncle Daniel. Daniel was my dad’s brother and my own brother is named after him as well.
What has been the best part about being new parents?
Getting to squish another adorable little baby!
What has been the most challenging parts about having a newborn again?
The organized chaos!
Did you decorate a nursery for Jocelyn?
Ha! She got stuck with her big sisters’ nursery and theme. (More power to you, momma! )
Did you know if you were having a boy or a girl before delivery?
Not until the week before she was born.
What did you love most about your newborn session?
Andrea is so easy to work with.
What would you tell new moms who are unsure if they want to have newborn photos done?
It is a must! You will never have this chance again and it is likely that after sleep deprivation, you will not remember your baby being this small.
