As the weather gets colder here in Wisconsin, it seems to signify the end of wedding season. After all, no one wants to get married in the cold, blustery, snowy weather we get here. But, oh my, do I want to! (And let me be the first to say, I dread winter.)
Last night I was watching Friends. It was the episode where Phoebe and Mike get married, but there is a huge blizzard, which throws off all of their plans. The pair end up getting married in the middle of the street, surrounded by blankets of snow. MAGICAL!
An outdoor winter wedding?!?! Are you crazy?!?! I know that is what a lot of you are thinking, but I see magic! I see a bridal party wearing ice blue dresses with beautiful carpet capes to keep everyone warm. The men could be wearing dark grey tuxes with a touch of ice blue in their ties or suspenders.
The ceremony location would be lit up with white lights everywhere. Some hanging in vases, some in mason jars, all the trees lit up white. Breathtaking!
The beautiful bride would pull up in a horse drawn carriage. She would emerge in a beautiful champagne colored dress with a long cape covering her shoulders. You know that silence that you experience when it is snowing? Like the whole world is holding it’s breath? That is what the moment will feel like as the beautiful bride walks towards her handsome groom. The silence will only be broken by the small orchestra softly playing Canon in D.
Can’t you feel the magic that would be in the air? And if we had the power to do demand it, a light fluffy snowfall right at this exact moment would be perfect!
