Fall sessions in Wisconsin are always a top choice for families! It seems to be everyone’s favorite season, and there is good reason why! The crisp air, the changing leaves, the warm golden light – and an excuse to snuggle into those comfy flannels and boots! Who can pass that up?

When it comes to beautiful fall photo locations, the Delafield Fish Hatchery is one of my favorites! That’s probably no surprise if you have seen my location guide blog post.

As we get ready for another season of fall sessions, I wanted to highlight some of the locations I love to photograph at!

Why I love the Delafield Fish Hatchery

This area has so many of the things I look for in a great family photography location. There are beautiful trees, natural surroundings, boardwalks, bridges, and stonework. There are so many opportunities to capture those cozy, candid family moments!

Even if you have had photos done on these beautiful paths before, fall does something different to this stunning location. The changing leaves add so much color and texture to your photos, and the sun being lower on the horizon gives a warm, comfy glow to your photos.

A perfect location for family photos

I never want your photos to feel overly stiff and posed. I am always searching for those little smiles, the giggles, and all those in-between moments that you’ll love looking back on.

The Delafield Fish Hatchery gives us a beautiful backdrop to photograph all of these moments! There is plenty of room to run, play, explore, cuddle, and just be with your family.

The Delafield Fish Hatchery is beautiful in the fall thanks to the gorgeous sunlight pouring through the trees. While you do get a the warm, cozy vibes in your photos, you wont be competing with bright colored trees.
