April in Review | Waukesha Family Photographer

Does anyone else notice that as the months go on – they go by faster? February can seem like it is at least 3 years long and June/July/August last approximately one weekend. Why is that? Well, here it is, the end of May, (it’s actually the beginning of July – what am I even doing with my time?) and I am finally putting together my April review post. This month last 4 monthsjust flew by!

April brought me so much joy in the amazing sessions I was able to photograph. Let me tell you, there were a lot of kids, a lot of cake, and a lot of growing families. As a Waukesha Family Photographer, you know I am always going to be showing off the amazing local families I am lucky enough to photograph. But, what you might not know is that I love to photograph things outside of my comfort zone also!

Extended Family Photographer

Over the last three years, the number of extended family sessions I have photographed has grown exponentially! I love these sessions so much. Getting the entire family together for photos is not an easy task! Scheduling alone can take 82342 back-and-forth text messages to finally figure out a date that works for everyone.

But, it is always worth it! Even as your family grows and changes, you will love looking back at this moment in time. These kiddos got together for some photos for a Mother’s Day gift and this wild and crazy time turned out some amazing photos!

If only you could see the antics going on behind the camera in these photos!! Im telling you, it’s like a three ring circus!

Green and Cream Cake Smash

I have been photographing this family for years, and every single session has been amazing! I love the neutral tones with the pop of yellow for big sis!

Milwaukee Dance Photographer

You might remember that back in February, I photographed the dancers at Studio One Dance Company in Wales, WI. This month, I was able to photograph the breathtaking dancers of THREE POINT PROJECT. These photographs were done as a collaboration with their artistic director, Ashley Tomaszewski. While these talented movers didn’t need any direction with how to look their best, Ashleyi and I worked together to ensure the lighting, posing, and editing fit the mood of the photos she was envisioning. What an incredible afternoon!

If you are a dancer, or know a dancer, you should certainly look into their support Sunday classes where you can learn from these dancers.

Hole in One Cake Smash

This little guy happened to turn one and have his party during the PGA tour – so of course a golf theme was the perfect way to go. I dare you to find me a cuter little golfer out there! He was so stinkin’ adorable in his little plaid vest. Sadly, he wasn’t digging the golfer hat, so no photos with that, but even so, these photos are beyond adorable!

Outdoor Maternity Session

It has been so special to photograph this family so many times through the years. I have been photographing them since they were a family of 2, and now they are becoming a family of five!! It honestly brings tears to my eyes to think of all of the special moments I have captured for this family. This career has brought me some of the biggest blessings in my life and I never forget that!

So, what are your guesses? Boy or girl? You’ll have to check back on the May review post to find out!

Waukesha Baby Photographer

I think if I did a word count search on my blog, the word adorable would come up 10x more than any other word on my blog. But really, can you blame me? I honestly photograph the most adorable kids! These three are no exception. Baby girl in her pale blue dress is just the sweetest. And let’s take a moment to appreciate big brother and sister on their adorable faces and poses for the camera! They made my job so easy!

Waukesha Studio Family Session

This is another family that I have photographed from a family of 2 to a family of five. Watching these kids grow has been such a blessing and I truly look forward to every one of our sessions together! I think I need to put all of their sessions together in a single blog post so you can see how much the kids (and my photography) has grown over the years! I love seeing the resemblance from kid to kid and seeing their personalities develop. Ella’s sitter session was full of blues and creams with dashes of pinks thrown in. Such a classic color combination!

Two year old photo in studio

Seeing these kids grow up year after year is honestly one of the best parts of my job! I love how smiley and happy this little one was for her session! She simply radiates joy!

Wild One Studio Cake Smash

If you recognize this little one from the extended family photos above – then you have great eyes! I was lucky enough to see her two days in a row – first for her big family photos and then for her cake smash photos. Let me tell you, she was a little unsure, but when she saw her daddy on Facetime – she just lit up!

April was a great month for sessions! I can’t wait to show you what May had in store!

Which session is your favorite? Comment below and let me know!
